Happy Birthday to me

Ouray, Colorado

June 30th thru July 5th

We settle in at the KOA in Ouray.

The first day, my friend Marty joins me on some exploration.

We pass many old mines.

Some more weathered than others.

We finally reach some snow.

Then the summit.

Marty takes the Jeep for a spin at over 12,000 ft.

On the way up to Yankee Boy Basin, we stop at camp Bird.

The view down Yankee Boy was awesome.

Sneffels Creek supplied some beautiful waterfalls.

This old mine was need the abandoned community of Sneffels.

More gorgeous scenery alone Sneffels Creek.

You can see the mountains of tailings pulled from the mountain at Camp Bird.

The Red Rockers takes a break on the way down from Camp Bird.

They had a big fun parade in downtown Ouray on the 4th.

After the parade, we roll down to Silverton then up to Hurricane Pass.

We have a bird's eye view of Lake Como.

We actually saw some 4th of July snow skiing at Hurricane Pass.

Kelsey had fun in the snow where all these mountain roads intersect.

That mountain road took us thru Animas Forks and up the valley to Cinnamon Pass.

The altitude was getting to Tanner as we make it to the 12,640 ft. pass.

But he shook it off for another photo by the stars and stripes on a beautiful 4th of July day.
