Cajun Jamboree 2003
St. Francisville, La.
April 25, 26, and 27
After breakfast the first day, Tanner is ready for some action.
Staging was at the First Baptist Church of St. Francisville.
(a special thanks to them for opening the parking lot, AND restrooms to the Jeepers!!!!)
While staging, I spotted this cherry ’72 Levi edition CJ5. sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!
From the word go, Todd had no problems with the Louisiana terrain.
This XJ from Michigan trekked through the jungle with open diffs.
Todd’s brother-in-law Greg, another Aggie, brought his CJ7 all the way from Lubbock.
At the lunch break, the kiddos worked out on the rolling jungle gyms.
These two cuties were enjoying the break……..AND checking out Tanner!!!
Some of the rest of the group opted for the shade. (wish I would have brought a chair.)
Jay may short work of this man made obstacle. And this one.
That Levi CJ5 didn't just LOOK good, it performed good.
This Grand had to stop and go POTTY!
Jay did this obstacle without spilling his Perrier!
At day 2 staging, this TJ showed up with a drive train that cost more than my Jeep.
Carl, from Pittsville, Ill, takes his Willys from the shade to the sun.
Greg and Jerry enter THE mud pit. We spent about 4 hours here Saturday.
How many Aggies does it take to change a flat?
Riley, Jarred, and Tanner, a.k.a. Three Musketeers.
Nope, this was NOT the Dixie Chicks Jeep. a.k.a. Three French Hens.
Team Texas, left to right, Jay, Gordon, Tanner, Greg, Riley, Todd, Jarred, and Jerry.
Tanner acting a fool in front of this CJ7, 304, 38 inch tires, AR AR AR AR.
At this low water crossing, some locals cooled off . Note: always set you parking brake!!
Here is an video (AVI) of Jay making a tough obstacle look easy.
Review:
The people in St. Francisville were as nice as they could be. Nice quiet little town. The trails were not very challenging but the event was fun. You did a lot of driving for a couple obstacles. The food was good. As good of a breakfast as I have had at an event. We had crawfish Saturday night and it was like a party!!! We stayed at the Green Acres campground. It was nice, quiet and clean. My only gripe was the pool was down for repairs. I would recommend staying at the hotel/Jamboree headquarters. That seems to be where 99% of the people stayed and where the PARTY WAS! Interesting observation, I did not see one Liberty or Scrambler????
